Signage Solutions
Engraved &
Traffolyte Labels
Precision-engraved traffolyte labels, nameplates, and industrial signage for electrical panels, plant equipment, safety compliance, and corporate identification. Built to last in the harshest environments.
Durable identification you can rely on
Traffolyte is the industry standard for engraved labels where durability, chemical resistance, and legibility are non-negotiable. Our CNC and laser engraving processes cut through the top layer to reveal a contrasting colour beneath — producing crisp, permanent text and graphics that won't fade, peel, or wash off.
From single custom nameplates to large-run industrial label programs, Palace Signs has been producing precision-engraved identification solutions for Melbourne's manufacturing, electrical, and corporate sectors since 1976.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What is traffolyte and why is it used for engraved labels?
Traffolyte (also called Lamacoid) is a multi-layer phenolic laminate material. Engraving removes the top coloured layer to reveal a contrasting colour beneath, producing permanent, high-contrast text and graphics. It's chemical-resistant, dimensionally stable, and unaffected by UV, moisture, or most industrial solvents — making it the preferred material for electrical, industrial, and safety labelling.
What colour combinations are available?
We stock a wide range of two-layer and three-layer traffolyte sheets. Common combinations include black on white, white on black, red on white, black on yellow, and green on white. Custom colour combinations can be ordered for larger runs. We can also match specific corporate colours in acrylic.
Do you have a minimum order quantity?
No — we accept single-piece orders through to large production runs. Unit pricing improves with quantity, and we're happy to provide a tiered quote so you can see the cost benefit of ordering in bulk.
Can you engrave barcodes and QR codes?
Yes. Our laser engraving systems can produce scannable barcodes and QR codes on traffolyte, aluminium, and stainless steel. We recommend laser engraving over CNC routing for barcode applications to ensure the fine detail required for reliable scanning.
What fixing options are available?
Labels can be supplied with self-adhesive backing, pre-drilled for screws or rivets, or fitted with cable tie slots. For outdoor or high-vibration applications we recommend mechanical fixing (screws or rivets) rather than adhesive alone.
